Below are some of the funding opportunities available; this list is not exclusive and please do e-mail us to tell us of any other schemes that may be of interest to applicants. It is worth checking with your university or institution who may either offer funding themselves for students' academic and professional development, or who may know of other options for which you may be eligible.

The Royal Geographical Society offers scholarships of GBP 4000 to allow young geographers to travel overseas before university.

RGS also offers one competitive GBP 4000 'Journey of a Lifetime' grant each year for an original and inspiring journey. The winner receives radio and broadcast training and records a documentary about their experiences for BBC Radio 4.
